Bishop Franklin M. Ferguson serves as the National Overseer of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, an appointment he has held since September 1st 2013. The Bahamas is an island nation consisting of 700 islands, rocks and cays stretching from the south eastern tip of Florida USA to the eastern tip of Cuba. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the North and the Caribbean Sea to the south. This country has the distinction of being the first Mission field of the church outside of the United States having been first blessed with the Pentecostal message of God and the church in 1910. The church in the Bahamas presently consists of 17 (seventeen) Districts, 60 (sixty) churches and 4400 + members. Another well-known feature of the Bahamas is its World Famous Bahama Brass Band which made its first appearance at our International Assembly in September 1938 and has been ministering in these meetings ever since that time.

Bishop Ferguson who served the local church for most of his life started working at the national level in 1982 in the Education Department, administering and teaching classes in Bible Training Institute. Having served as the Associate Pastor of the East Street Tabernacle for five years, in 2000 he became the Senior Pastor, a position he held for fourteen years. Both he and his wife, career educators, have traveled across the length and breadth of the country ministering to members, followers and others. They have also traveled across the Caribbean, the USA and to Canada to preach the gospel. Their desire is to inspire others to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, practice our core values and to study to show themselves approved unto God. Both Bishop Ferguson and his wife Rovena who serves as his Executive Assistant hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (UWI), a Master of Arts Degree in Religion and a Doctor of Ministry in Global Pentecostalism (GCTS, Boston). They are the proud parents of five wonderful (5) children and seven (7) precious grandchildren.
